SAFE’s Court Watch Project has been up and running for two months. As of March 21st we have 42 trained Court Watch volunteers who have dedicated over 303 hours and recorded data for over 340 cases! We consider this a strong, successful start to our effort.
Among the many goals of this project is to engage the DC community in Civil Protection Order hearings and how the system works, so that folks are better able to understand and access these remedies. In the spirit of transparency, we are publishing a copy of our DC Domestic Violence Court Watch Project Form to this blog. Therefore, readers will know what information we are asking volunteers to record and will be analyzing.
